RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stages 1-4

Monday to Friday 9.30am- 4.30pm

8 - 16 year olds

Come along to enjoy a week of dinghy sailing. Suitable for beginners to sailing and those with previous experience. Kit and instruction will be provided.

We follow the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme syllabus and sailors will be able to achieve stages 1-4 dependent on ability over the course. Our expert instructors offer a safe environment for children to have fun, learn and challenge themselves.

Stage 1- An introduction to the parts of the boat and the basic principles of how to get a boat sailing

Stage 2- Develop the sailing skills needed to sail around a course tacking, gybing and controlling boat speed

Stage 3- Build your confidence and develop the skills needed to sail in different directions in moderate conditions

Stage 4- Learn how to sail a double-handed boat as a crew or helm and solve a variety of problems afloat

We run these courses in the summer months. Check back in May 2026 for the July and August availability
